Yes, seriously. I’m not sick or anything, however as some of you know I am a digital nomad, traveling the world with my girlfriend in a touring van, stopping along the way to work as professional, international pet-sitters and doing other odd jobs just like David Banner in the Hulk television series.
Truly, it’s like I’ve been on vacation for most of the last 16 months.
Normally I haven’t had any problems finishing strips on time and finding Wi-Fi hotspots to publish from. However, since California decided to re-shutdown the entire state as a drastic precautionary over-reaction to a disease that barely even qualifies as a pandemic anymore by the CDCs standards… I no longer have access to any gyms (for showering, bathrooms, bushing teeth, drinking water). Also, since all restaurants and coffee shops have shut down their indoor dining areas, I no longer have a place to sit down, plug in my trusty Surface Pro 4, and draw. I can draw in the van, of course, which I have done in the past. However, the big problem is finding a source of electricity to keep myself powered up.
Since I will be another week in California until my next pet sit starts in Oakland, we have been resorting to urban campground survival techniques to keep ourselves hygienic. Here are some photos from my current location: Morro Bay, CA.
Anyway, wish me luck. After my next sit I will be heading north to Oregon and Washington for most of August and September then who knows where.
Wow, didn’t know you were nomad’ing it up for the last year. It must suck with the covid closings. However, the shit is real, we just had it go through the nursing homes in my county and it killed alot of people. Yeah, it’s not a moving pandemic that there are piles of bodies in the streets, but it is a pandemic. Stay safe out there.
Actually Covid-19 has been great for our travels from South Carolina through to the West Coast. Almost no traffic anywhere. No lines. Most businesses in the states had already re-opened for people wearing masks. California is the exception, they re-shutdown all businesses with interior seating. So haven’t been able to access gyms to shower, or enter a Starbucks to sit in A/C during summer in the desert.
I recognize that rock. Gone there quite a few times. Hello from the bay area
All caught up Matt. Was refreshing a specific page, haha.
