Annnnnd I’m done here. Kind of a shame- I liked the Apptitude arc- but I’m not cool with this.
If you were trying to report someone who’d followed you home, or left you threatening letters, or- god forbid- groped you when you didn’t want to be groped… would you want to be treated the way you’re treating the waitress in this strip? How about the way you’re encouraging your audience to treat her?
As for flirting being “ruined” by feminism: There’s a word for “persuasion that only works on people who don’t feel safe saying no”- it’s “coercion.”
I’m not sure if you are being serious or not. If you are then, you are absolutely right. If someone were – god forbid – to try to get a waitress’s attention by saying “Excuse me, waitress…” then they should be immediately asked to leave the establishment and/or arrested if enough stones cannot be acquired to slay them in the street. That is EXACTLY the same as groping her, following her home and leaving threatening letters. I am ashamed that I would encourage my audience to try to get a waitress’s attention by saying, “Excuse me, waitress.” If you are offended by that statement, please by all means, report me to Google and have them remove my ads, because obviously I am a sexual predator.
Or, you have proven my point beyond a reasonable doubt. Hopefully when you call the police you don’t try to get the attention of an opposite-sex officer by saying, “Excuse me, officer.”
