Look at me, getting my comic strips published on time! A quick behind-the-scenes look at Team Kick. Still able to laugh and have a good time while they are fighting against an entire city of super villains.
Just wanted to point out a little detail. “Tangerine” is the fictional tech company that makes a lot of the phones and tablets in both the Kickverse and the Javaverse. It’s the only tech company that Grayhawk trusts with secure superhero data, but why is that? What makes this company so special?
Tangerine, Inc. is a company founded by millionaire tech mogul, Arthur Tangerine. Who is also the superhero, Black Tangerine. If you go back to the Internship chapter (first appearance of Blush by the way), you can see Black Tangerine spilling his own coffee into his face. That was the one and only appearance of Black Tangerine in any of my comics. I also had zero plans to use him in the future, but I just wanted everyone to see the many layers of thought that goes into the greater Kickverse. The Internship, Chapter 8, page 13.
Are we going to get “Kick With a Beard”? (for you Original Star Trek Fans)
And Grey Hawk almost seemed flirty with Blush (does she still?)
Flirty? Nah, that headband was a corporate incentive… good for morale. HR-approved of course.
Actually, she’s the new sidekick to the generick kung-fu superhero sidekick. so she’s sidekick squared.
Grayhawk is really nice with Blush. I’m still not sure he hasn’t a thing for her, but I’m glad anyway.
Oh, and sorry Blush, that’s too late. There’s a chapter on the wikipedia page for Generic Kung-Fu Superhero Sidekick that says “Generic Kung-Fu Superhero Sidekick II : Blush put on one of Generic Kung-Fu Superhero Sidekick’s old headbands, dyed pink, and was Generic Kung-Fu Superhero Sidekick for like six seconds before she turned down the name.”
Last, nice naming for the teams. Somehow I feel there should be a Panda Team as well (and that’s totally not because my wife draws me as a panda in her own cartoons; we just loved Kung-Fu Panda, all three films).
