These are a lot quicker to produce when there are only 4 frames.
Good job and a tip of the hat to Rakkety Tam, for correctly guessing that the Kick Boy’s masks contain some kind of voice-activated kill switch. Yes, even the Reds and Blues, which Grayhawk and Blush were so insistent are unwaveringly loyal. Contingencies upon contingencies. Rakkety even found some past hints: the important rules in place to never take off the mask.
One other tiny clue that nobody picked up. Grayhawk did make a mental note that the imposter’s clothing was real. As a shapeshifter, he had to make sure that the imposter was not just mimicking fake clothing out of skin. But then, I’m not sure if Kickman could keep it’s PG rating if Polly Morph had been walking around naked through this whole chapter.
8 Kick Points to Rakkety Tam!
This chapter is almost complete. Time to figure out what’s going to happen next chapter.
this is impressively cerebral. A thinking man’s superhero comic!
Thanks! I do try to keep it interesting.
Since a kick that could actually break three bricks would probably shatter at least a few bones in Paulina’s skull, I guess it’s another misleading code name, and a good one as usual.
The last panel stumps me, though. Would anyone be so kind as to explain the last two lines? What has Kickman not moving and his eyes not being visible have to do with Grayhawk taking long to run the play? And by the way, what exactly does “run the play” refer to?
(Sorry if those questions sound daft, it may be because I’m both not a native english speaker and unfamiliar with some of the finer points of American culture…)
Kickman was (as of 2 episodes ago) apparently unconscious against a wall; the “play” being “run” (sports reference) is the plan to incapacitate Poly. Greyhawk didn’t know if Kickman was conscious (due to not being able to see his eyes) to perform his part of the plan.
Right. This exactly.
Thanks! Quite helpful.
As for the three brick equation… even though Polly’s shapeshifting power is being temporarily neutralized, she still has a moderate level of enhanced strength/toughness. Grayhawk has detailed notes on most of the inmates, so he knows how hard Kickman needs to kick her to knock her out without doing permanent damage.
Although, to make it more sports relevant, maybe he should have said something like, “A 750-yard field goal attempt!”
I stand corrected. I should have remembered that Paulina was hit with a bat and was still able to fight.
Those masks are pretty lavish for a team that was- just a few months ago- using homemade sonic bombs. I smell a benefactor.
You mean like the blue bat?
Maybe.
He did have a whole suitcase full of super-tech before he arrived in the city. Of course he had to spend some time modifying it and making it… less blue.
And it’s not like they shook down some clown for bags-O-cash or anything….
