And the difference between a superhero and some random vigilante? Also marketing and personal branding. Without the whole bat gimmick, Bruce Wayne would just be some rich guy who likes to punch people.
And the gadgets! Adds a whole new marketing level when you’ve got a toy line to go with the name.
I have been threatening for years to do a full scale comic about super hero accounting. I mean just the hassles of spending half of the year dead can really make your taxes such a nightmare.
