Grayhawk is doing his Minority Report impersonation.
I think Archives was the earliest to call Succubus as the antagonist this chapter. But Rakkety Tam called it with the most gusto last week. Anyone else?
Sorry this one was posted late, just busy moving around a lot lately. I even missed my Wednesday night role-playing session. (current game is Star Trek using the Savage Worlds system).
Early tomorrow morning I’ll be dropping off Cheri at the San Fran airport so she can fly off to Maui. I’ll be joining her after four more days as I’m finishing up this Aptos dog/pig/chicken-sit. Looking forward to some long-term sits coming up in the summer where we won’t be bouncing around quite so much.
Look Archives, a wild Succubus has appeared in the tall grass.
Prepare my crossbow, holy water, overnight seduction kit and twelve cans of whipped cream.
Succubus? What go go right?
Do you thank her for her Heroine-oic actions against Superior Man? (Maybe offer her a tryout for Superheroines of Hive Valley?)
What is the long term plan if Kicklandia (MUST hear their national anthem) already has more land then they can hold. Will this be another march on Moscow moment?
So what surprise does Matt have for us?
A thrilling romance for Jay? I think he’s been kidnapped, but considering his luck over the invasion, (and general optimism) he could have gone willingly
I vote for Billy Idol’s “Mony Mony” to be the national anthem of Kicklandia…
Never heard Finlandia, the Song that created Finland, then?
(my snark is high level)
These strategic considerations raise one question: how does Grayhawk plan to have their collective power grow enough to take on Ironside or any of the other districts that they are deeming too difficult for now?
I assume in this context, “civilians” means “civilians with no fighting ability and no particular potential for it”, because otherwise I don’t know where Kick Boys came from.
So what are Succubus’s strengths and weaknesses in this story arc? Why don’t we get to know more about it next week?
Succubus, real name Angela Libertine, had a huge crush and was a prison stalker of Kickman. (per Criminal Minds)
So depending on how she treats the “norms” in her territory, there are some twists Matt might have in mind.
Thanks for the heads-up! This chapter has a lot of callbacks to previous adventures (something I enjoy a lot) and it’s nice to have a more knowledgeable sibling help me remember the minutiae I may have glossed over.
A logic problem- the kick boys are all civilians, no? So if the plan is evacuation, how are the kick boys going to hide amongst the population? Surely you get to the point where any reasonably fit-looking young man (or woman) inside kick territory will be presumed hostile?
No, the Kick Boys are enlisted men in the Kickman, LLC armed forces. Most of Kicklandia is probably empty of people except for the ones unwilling to leave the city.
I was wondering about that, morality-wise building an army seemed kinda mercy.
Merc-y. Merc-y!
then why bother with disguise?
