So, drawing Succubus she turned out to be hotter in human form than I was intending. I wanted her to be fairly average looking. But, having a gold bikini adds a solid 2 points to her rating. Also, she is supposed to look surprised, which gives her the bigger eyes which adds an extra point for being almost-anime. So, while she is supposed to be a solid 6, she may look more like a 9 in the last frame. Depending on whether you like the skinny gals I guess.
I was trying to keep her look the same as her first appearance. But way back then, she had this weird-looking poof of hair that looks like it came from a Peanuts cartoon, so I adjusted that.
Here she is in her prison jump suit back in the Criminal Minds chapter:
Next week: Send in the ex-boyfriends! Time to go all Scott Pilgrim on their asses.
Wouldn’t the bikini or one of the horns work. Or maybe an alkaline bath to counteract the acidity.
Oh, no. Not the horns, those cause cancer.
Trying for Spoiler Kickpoints again.
Theory A: It’s a sacred marriage so she can’t go demonic.
Theory B: She betrayed Kickman with her mind, and lost her powers.
Theory C: The exemption clause that her contract has to protect Kickman will revert her to human, if she’s in an unsafe form. Unclear on whether she’ll demon up again if it ceases to be relevant.
Pretty sure it’s A. Succubuses are incarnations of illicit sex, so marital sex can’t turn her into one. Being married will either mute her powers entirely, give her powers in a human form (possibly reduced), or give her a new transformation. Though of course, cheating would give her an enormous burst of power, or at least it would if the contract didn’t depower her.
Demon Lawyer will clear it up for everyone next week.
Will you please explain how Demon Layers are different from regular corporate lawyers? (I don’t see the difference yet)
Q: What do you call 50 lawyers chained to a bus at the bottom of the ocean?
A: A good start.
On further review, Demon Lawyers seem even less likely to keep their pants on during formal or professional moments.
My guesses tend to use up all the obvious solutions Matt, and I’m hoping you don’t hate me for it. My guesses stretch you as a writer if you subvert them, which is fun for everyone, but if you find this guessing game on the mean side then I’ll hold fire. Honestly the Kickpoints aren’t as important as your writing staying interesting.
Do you want me to hold fire on the spoilers? I don’t want you to hate me for this. 🙂
If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, I think you’re spot on and let me join you in the collective non-spoiler panicking.
I’ll go for it:
1. she’s already betrayed him, and hence loses her power.
2. she’s already a bride of satan?
That’s an unexpectedly cute sequence
I notice that while the demon lawyer was hurt by the God references, Succubus wasn’t, just like how she was barely affected by the holy weaponry earlier. It suggests that she isn’t a real demon; it’s more like demonic power wrapped itself around her.
That was my idea for her. She is not herself demonic, just pulls demon power into her somehow. If anything, the demons in Hell probably hate her for taking their mojo.
It would be interesting if it was like Beacon – using her power being powered by her capacity for evil. All part of the Plan – when she uses her evil up Heaven would win.
But it takes a miracle to find one…
No one has commented on it yet, so I’m just going to say that I loved the “little hiss”. For some reason hisses make me smile.
As for why Angelina is back to human form, I’m surprised no one has guessed it was love’s first kiss.
Awwwww! Twue love!
Yeah, True Love is the greatest thing in the world, except for a nice MLT—mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, when the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomato is ripe.
I forgot to add a little narrator box that says “Succubus, current power level: 1”
Wasn’t the narrator fired a long time ago?
