She Blinded Him With Science!
Beacon’s superpower is to find stuff. She generates beams of light that go towards an object that she cannot see. So most of her hero career was spent on missing persons. She’s used her powers offensively in the past, usually by closing her eyes and using her power to locate the eyes of a mook to blind him. This is what happens when you take a master strategist and gamer like Sidekick Matt and give him a chance to get creative with using other people’s powers.
The side effect of Beacon’s powers is that the energy she generates consumes calories and she burns her body mass for fuel. That’s why she looks so emaciated in the last panel.
Superior Man is hurt, but he is far from defeated. Battle continues next week!
If Superior Man is in superior levels of pain, will he rub his eyes with superior levels of force, thereby injuring himself?
sounds legit to me. His entire stack of behaviours seems to indicate someone like Captain Hammer from the sing-along-blog; unused to experiencing actual pain and injury, so unlikely to have enough self-control NOT to hurt himself under those conditions.
Nah, he has Superior Gentle Fingers. Better fingers than anyone else in the world…
I don’t believe it. Seriously, I’m directing all my sarcastic, cynical skepticism in the direction of the so called “Superior Man.”
seems to me everyone has a flaw to go with their powers. Beacon uses her own calories, for example. I wonder if Superiorman’s limitation is that as his power ramps up, his sanity drops off. alternately, it could be that he’s just fucking sick of this shit and has decided to see what’s on the other side. Figure the ‘superior selective hearing’ thing, right? wasn’t. imagine someone extremely poorly socialized realizing nobody respects them despite their power, and then give that someone world-wrecking power and a self-control problem. Whatever it was, SOMETHING happened to flip this guy’s switches.
Left side again.
What’s up with that? (There are no accidents)
I’m pretty sure it’s intentional.
It’s a ‘Death by a million paper-cuts’ strategy.
Repeated damage to Supe’s left side will throw him off balance. He’s not accustomed to feeling pain. This will be a subconscious reaction as the pain from the Left-Nut shot tends to radiate through the body. He’ll favor his left side; Arm, leg, hand, etc.
This will put him off-balance, giving the Heroes an additional edge in fighting him.
Since none of them is strong actually face him directly, and ganging up on him has its own logistical problems, they need to use precise strikes to gain every last advantage they can to bring him down.
I can only hope that his defeat is accompanied by massive humiliation and embarrassment so great that blush can sense it from across the state.
