(As for the thinness. My feeling is that each beam burns up calories. Just a beam of light would only burn up enough fat to create photons which are actually not that massy, but the quantum energies involved in focused intent to direct the find-it aspect of the beam might also have an energy requirement…)
That’s it exactly. Her power consumes a lot of her body mass so she has to eat a lot to use her powers. That’s why she wears that full cover body suit. Without it, you could actually probably see her wasting away from the beginning of the battle to the end.
You know cats and laser pointers? I had a cat, Phudge, who would chase the little red arrow for about thirty seconds then stop and trace the beam back where she would attack my hand. Took effort and care not to shine it in her eyes while she was trying to chomp on a knuckle.
Beacon should lay off the supering until she has some body reserves. I suggest she wear a utility belt full of peanut butter candy.
Hah! I forgot all about cats and laser pointers. Phudge is lucky you didn’t laser his eyes. Although with a name like Phudge maybe I should say phaser. And that reminds me of this.
In all seriousness, I’m wondering what Beacon’s origin is. Maybe you could put together some origin stories? That way if you get stuck on a script or come to a natural break in the plot, you’ll still have something to put up. 🙂
