New format for Kickman. I know, I know, I threatened long ago to change to a format that looks more like a comic page. On the off chance that I decide that I want to actually make print copies of Kickman someday. And now, a couple days after I posted that cover last week, GlobalComix announced on X, that they are partnering with Comix Wellspring to provide print on demand services for Indie creators. I have no idea how much one comic episode would cost, but I’m excited to be able to offer a print option for Kickman #31. And probably #32, 33, 34. But not 35. That issue will suck.
As for the showdown in the streets of Hero/Villain City. It’s nice to see the superheroes try to talk through their problems. This is definitely not The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley…
By the way, this was the cover that I homagenized last week. Trust me, it’s a word.

“Sparta” Well, the name is a start. If she starts going after Kickman the “wrong” way does Succubus come off the bench and into the fight?
“SPARTA” Well, that’s a start.
As an aside, if SPARTA goes after KICKMAN the “wrong” way will Succubus come off the bench and jump in?
Succubus definitely needs to be in this fight.
The new layout looks GREAT!!
(My money was on Max to be the “guy in a suit betraying the team”, but eh, 90’s)
And Sparta using Socratic reasoning but being too impatient to wait for the responses is -perfection-
Max, as in Maxwell Lord?
Yeah! I know he went nuts, but I always liked the guy
Sweet! Did matt Say “protocol Injustice” or was that an aside to let us know he hit that button? ‘Cause if he said it Blue Bat should already be doing something other than talking (even if she has a crush on him). Love the new layout!
He said it quietly under his breath. You can tell by the smaller font. But, yeah, if the Rangers were on their game someone should have stopped that.
When you print it, maybe move Jay’s speed bubble a little over (overlapping) Matt’s? (give it that visual effect) Don’t know if that would help
Nope, have a new speech bubble coming from the wristpad. Fixed.
Just another sign that Matt is ahead of Blue Bat in planning.
She might not be smart enough for him. (couples sort by intelligence.)
There is one thing that’s throwing me right now, and it’s that-
holy cats, she knows who killed Scandal. High certainty.
That is actually a very good question. We still have not found anything about that except that there were no traces of anything on the site of explosion: explosives, magic residue, etc. Now that I think about it (and went throught the archives), a kinetic strike was pretty much the only reasonable cause left. That leaves either someone with orbital capabilities (as in: satellite with a pack of tungsten rods) assuming that the projectile would not be detected or someone with really high level super strength and corresponding durability.
Still, there is also a question of motive that is unanswered as well.
Wow. You’re absolutely right. And the “murder weapon” fits right into Matt’s habits of ‘no dumb heroes’ and ‘turning perceived weaknesses into incredible strengths’. The ramping frustration of watching a known troll leak the identities of your friends and comrades (as well as up-and-coming hopefuls) to psychopaths for youtube clicks? I’d have taken that shot
@Archives: I doubt Matt would do it for a few reasons:
1. Heavy collateral damage and innocent casualties (news report with estimated 200 people killed in the blast).
2. Scandal was focused on the Supreme Leader at that point, which was beneficial for Matt. If anything, the idea would be to fake Scandal’s death to have him work without notoriety.
3. Matt would not keep his inner circle in the dark about this event.
Oh! Sorry, Author Matt. (sorry) That specific character whose power has a side effect which would allow for an orbital strike without witnesses is absolutely the killer.
Consarn it. Witnesses -> Evidence. (Sorry)
Would it be cheating if I just introduced a new villain later called Untraceable Boom?
:X >:X !!!
Matt yes, yes it would be cheating. (and not “Untraceable Boomer”?)
Luthor Alexander the Turd (sorry/not sorry I had to say it that way) has a satellite with railgun capabilities. Distinctly possible he’s playing a game of his own, regardless of his master’s wishes. He’s already shown a willingness to do so in the previous encounter.
Just my thought
And a very thoughtful thought, but I think the tense is “Had” a satellite railgun….
