Fight’s on!! Who had “Grayhawk makes the first attack” in the pool?
It’s a variation on that ol’ Riggs-Murtaugh Lethal Weapon bit. Which Kickman and Generic Kung-Fu Superhero Sidekick first did in Chapter 1. Go back and read it. While you’re back there in chapter 1, be amazed at how much the art has improved over the last ten years or so. Also, click on any ads you see. I don’t actually get paid for ad clicks through comicad.net, but it does create the illusion that my site sends traffic to other sites, which may potentially increase the value of the ads on my site. Also, if you want to advertise on my site, the rates start at 2-cents per day to give you an idea of my internet real estate value. Also, why don’t computer keyboards have the “cents” symbol on them anymore? I use that a lot more than ^. I don’t even know how to use ^.
Huh. That was a pretty good ramble.
I hope everyone is enjoying the new format. When I think in the back of my head, “Hey, I might actually print this comic out on paper…” I try harder to make interesting compositions and dramatic camera angles. I could really use a refresher course on drawing the head from an upward angle though. Waaay too many of those last week.
I’m ahead of schedule again, so this page was drawn and uploaded on Friday where I am sitting four dogs in Simi Valley. I’m only here for two nights then going back to Laguna Niguel, so I will probably be driving at about the time when a bunch of you are reading this on Sunday.
Happy Kickday everyone!

Blue Streak reminds me of a character of my own from Prometheans, my book of text superhero adventures. But Billy Blue Blazes is a more limited speedster, reaching Mach I is his crowning achievement in the book. He achieves his speed feats via a localized timewarp, but he still has to deal with air resistance. 🙂
Hero team vs hero team is a time-honored tradition and this should be a heck of a lot of fun. 🙂
It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye. That’s why Cyclops was always so stoic.
Very good first move: an electric jammer disguised as a sonic bomb. Direct shock incapacitates the speedster while the EMP effect takes out (at least temporarily) two tech based heroes. There are still quite a few strong fighters to deal with.
Yeah, this is really good
Classic misdirect 🙂
If you can’t hit the Speedster, get her to come to the attack

Alt 0162 (on windows keyboards) 😊
I just tried that and it didn’t work. According to Grok, it only works on a keyboard with a numeric keypad. What a crock! My keyboard has ALL the numbers! Why would I need a numeric keypad in addition to that?? That being said…. ¢!
(I copy-pasta’ed Larry’s ¢)
Well, no one *needs* a numeric keypad, it’s just hella convenient if you do a lot of work with spreadsheets, etc. We can’t all be super creative types that make their living drawing entertaining artwork and storytelling…😂
BTW, the carrot “^” is used a lot in programming languages, and math apps to indicate ‘to the power of…” example: 3^2 = 9
Wait, it’s called The Carrot? Ummm… okay, that’s pretty cool, now I’m okay with it being on my keyboard. :oD
Lol. It’s caret, not carrot or karat.
Um, how do you pronounce that? It looks French.
¢ ¢ ¢ ¢
Hey it works! (some of us are easily amused)
At this point over half the comments were about ¢ and not the story…..
This is a vital societal issue^^^
Wait, I can use a caret in place of an explanation point, right?
I suspect that this whole scene is a diversion, and that, under the cover of this smoke and electronics blackout, a whispered conference is about to lay the grounds for a secret alliance. The fight will continue, as the story must be sold, but Matt & Blue Bat prepared for this.
Sounds like something they might do. Unless Blue Bat is still recoiling from Grayhawk choosing Sticky Buns over her. She might bring some passive-aggressive superheroine angst into this battle.
