So, for those of you who thought I was strangely silent about the claims that Lana gained super powers by being electrocuted over and over. Turns out, she has not! But her Superior-baby has gained super powers from being electrocuted. I have been gradually increasing Lana’s bust size ever since the start of the chapter Villain City. Although, that could easily be overlooked since I’m not super careful with the proportions of my recurring characters (see Phantom Lady for reference). But, if you ever watch the time lapse videos (and based on the number of views, quite a few people do) you can watch as I import old-Lana images and carefully ink a new-Lana image over it with slightly larger boobs.
If you look carefully, you may even notice the hints of a baby bump earlier on.
I use Chat-GPT for reference for some things. Like I had to ask it (her?) for an Apache expression of surprise and it gave me Na’ay (pronounced “nuh-eye”). Hopefully, that is more accurate than my comic book Australian translation.
One week from today I am hopping on a plane to Toronto. I will try to have a decent buffer of comics done before I start traveling, but historically I haven’t been great at that particular aspect of web-comic-making. For example, this page is already about 12 hours late. So bear with me if I have a few late or missing updates in the next three weeks.
I just went all the way back to psyops 03 to see if I could find the point where they stopped showing Lana’s stomach. Now, I’m not sure if it’s because I know she’s pregnant or not but I swear her stomach looks bigger than normal.
Albeit, ever so slightly.
Well, yeah, she was only a couple months by that point. ;o)

What’s the timeline of the recent events? Specifically, how long ago was Superior Man deposed and Villain City was established?
Well, I was trying to draw her at about six months pregnant. The reference photos for a six month baby bump size are all over the map. So about six months.
Truth be told, the references are all over the place since there are differences that big. It is not unheard for a women to go to the doctor with stomach pains and it turns out she is going into labor, and she never realised she was pregnant in the first place. That it obviously extreme, but gives the idea of how widely things can differ.
Also, Kickman striking that pose in panel 2 and shouting “Van Dammage!” is pure gold. 🙂

I’m gonna be honest. I started looking for old images of Lana before I read the authors notes (or whatever they’re called). Kinda glad that’s a superior baby and not a certain other kind of baby. Then again, now that I think about it, that’s not really Matt’s style is it.

Math nerd alert: I initially thought a dodgeball traveling at mach 1 would have a enough kinetic energy to vaporize an ordinary person on contact. But I did the math (if anyone needs a sleeping aid I’d be happy to elaborate 8) and it turns out the ball only has the KE of about 1/4 stick of dynamite, dispersed by bouncing, enough to hurt/incapacitate but not nearly enough to kill. Well done Matt!
I wonder if there is some kind of award for Most Math-Accurate Superhero Webcomic..? If not, there should be. I definitely did not do the math ahead of time and went by pure intuition. I’m pretty sure as a nerd in elementary school, I have been hit by a dodgeball at close to Mach 1.

Hang on, do the kids have to be born for Superior man to get the power from them. Also, didn’t he go on a sex spree while he was emperor of the world. There’s a good chance some of those women are carrying a little superhero too.
