Nothing like a good throat punch to shut up a wizard.
Instead of a Java Jaguar strip today, here is that Kickman page that should have been out this past Sunday. Java on Sunday? Kickman on Thursday? It’s total bedlam in my skull! I have no idea what’s going to be published this weekend. Hopefully I’ll have Kickman done and return to our regularly-scheduled, uh… schedule.
Today’s Kickman was drawn and uploaded from the Oceanside Public Library where I am 3-D printing some plastic cats. Totally not Java. Just a little plastic thing that can hold a business card for me to leave at customer’s homes after pet-sitting for them. A totally appropriate use of the city of Oceanside’s resources.
Also, there was a brush fire in Oceanside. It must not have been very big, it was 90% contained by the time I heard about it, so I am officially marking myself safe from wild fires for today. I’ll be car camping tonight, then tomorrow night I’ll be checking in for a new dog sit in Costa Mesa. Keep an eye out for the Java-Mobile along the Pacific Coast Highway.
Whoops. That should be “Magus” Mike. It didn’t occur to me until after publishing that “magi” is plural. Maybe they are triplets. But, if so, it’s only a matter of time before Yin Yang show up to slaughter two of them. If you have no idea what I’m talking about you haven’t read the latest Real Superheroines update.
I thought “Magi Mike” meant that Mike was of the magi. Seemed to work out.
Yes, that’s the ticket! I’ll allow it.
??? Thought you meant a a Mike used by a Magi. And now I want to see a Magi Mike Drop…
Scandal did just do a Magi Mike drop. Now I wish I had included that joke in the strip.
Oh, and I feel Scandal’s a bit unfair to mages. Of course they use their words in a fight. Their fists would be useless against anyone who can half fight. (Or they’re warrior mages, a different kind entirely.)
And really, Magi Mike’s not as bad as others I could think of. Now if he had gone with “By the Wrath of Gilgamesh/Rend and tear this doubter’s flesh!” like Stevie Weird, now Scandal had a case. (Of course, he’d have punched him before he completed “By the Wrath of…” and the joke would have been lost.)
Well, Bigby took fistfighting to a completely new level and he was very much a wizard.
I think everyone who’s played D&D has come up with their own list of Bigby variant spells. Bigby’s Pimp Slap, Bigby’s Rude Gesture, Bigby’s Talk to the Hand.
For sure! After all, this line of spells is remarkably handy.
I like Scandal
(sorry, meant for that to be unlinked)
Only sausages should be linked…
So is Mike naked or really scantily clad.
I imagine he’s wearing tight break-away pants.
This epsiode should be named “The day Magi stood still.”
